Overview
LOCTITE® 272 is a high-strength, high-temperature red threadlocker built for permanent locking and sealing of bolts, studs, nuts, and screws in demanding thermal environments such as engines and exhaust-adjacent machinery.
Usage Instructions
Clean and degrease threads. Apply Loctite 272 to the engaged threads before assembly and tighten to spec. Allow full cure time before exposing the joint to high load or heat. Removal of cured 272 typically requires localized heating due to its high-strength, high-temperature formulation.
Safety Information
Use in a ventilated area. Avoid skin and eye contact. Because this is a permanent, high-temperature threadlocker, confirm the joint is not meant for routine disassembly before use. Refer to Henkel’s official SDS for full hazard data.
