Overview
LOCTITE® 270 is a high-strength liquid threadlocking adhesive designed for permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners in demanding industrial applications. Unlike the medium-strength 242 grade, 270 is intended for joints that are not meant to be routinely disassembled.
Usage Instructions
Clean threads thoroughly. Apply Loctite 270 to the engaged threads — it can be applied even after assembly, as it penetrates by capillary action into pre-tightened joints. Allow 5 minutes for handling strength and a full 24 hours before subjecting the joint to full load. Note: removal of high-strength grades typically requires heat.
Safety Information
Use in a ventilated area. Avoid skin and eye contact. Since this grade is intended as a permanent lock, plan disassembly needs before application. Refer to Henkel’s official SDS for full hazard data.
